Nonsectarian/Anti-Discrimination Policy

Policy Statement

Unbound Academy affirms that all programs, admissions practices, courses, enrollment policies, employment practices, and operations are entirely nonsectarian and in full compliance with Sections 1003.499(3)(a)1. and 1000.05, Florida Statutes. The Academy is committed to ensuring that no individual shall be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, or any other legally protected category. This policy applies equally to all students, staff, contractors, and stakeholders associated with Unbound Academy’s online education programs.

Nonsectarian Commitment

  • Unbound Academy does not promote or endorse any religious belief, affiliation, or practice within its instructional materials, course content, or school operations.
  • Curriculum and instructional resources are aligned to Florida academic standards and are secular in nature.
  • School operations, governance decisions, and partnerships are conducted free from sectarian influence.

Anti-Discrimination Practices in Programs and Admissions

  • All students are eligible to apply and enroll in Unbound Academy programs without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or religion.
  • Admissions policies are transparent, published on the Academy’s disclosure website, and applied equitably to all applicants.
  • Reasonable accommodations are provided to students with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Anti-Discrimination in Employment

  • Employment and staffing decisions are based solely on qualifications, merit, and job requirements.
  • Unbound Academy provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without discrimination or harassment.
  • Policies prohibit retaliation against any individual who reports discrimination or participates in an investigation.
  • All employment practices comply with state and federal labor and anti-discrimination laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

Operations and Stakeholder Engagement

  • All operational practices, including procurement, contracting, and partnerships, are carried out in compliance with state and federal nondiscrimination laws.
  • Unbound Academy actively fosters an inclusive environment in which all stakeholders—students, families, staff, and partners—are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Regular review of policies and practices ensures continued compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Implementation and Oversight

  • Staff and faculty receive training on nonsectarian and anti-discrimination standards annually.
  • Allegations of discrimination are addressed promptly through documented grievance and resolution procedures.
  • The governing board oversees adherence to these policies, with accountability measures in place for violations.
